Every entrepreneur understands the need to continuously review, evolve and grow their business. It's a process that affects many, and consequently many resources exist which claim to be the "ultimate guide" for business owners.
While many of these resources are indeed invaluable to widening our mindset and revitalising our business strategies, it can be difficult to know where to start. After all, where do you begin with a list of 100 books? Surely they’re not all going to be unique and life-changing!
That’s why we wanted to listen to you and collate some of your recommended reads for entrepreneurs. So, sit back, grab a pen and get ready to note down a few books that may just change your mindset a tad.
Eat That Frog! Get More of the Important Things Done Today by Brian Tracy.
One of the best books to start with if you fancy entering the productivity genre is Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy. It is perhaps one of the more classic entrepreneurial starter books but it’s a classic for a reason! Eat That Frog shows you how to focus on the most critical tasks and organize your day in the best way possible way. Not merely will you get things done faster after reading this book, but you will equally get the right things done which is quite simply, a win-win situation.
Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap and Others Don’t by Jim Collins.
Our next recommendation is Good to Great by Jim Collins. Collins’ work is one of the most researched books out there as he collates his findings from a five-year research project exploring what makes certain high performing companies outperform their peers.
In this book, Collins uncovers underlying variables that he believes enable companies to make the jump from good to great. Composed of both surprising and perhaps more expected findings, Good to Great is an excellent book that is certainly worth a read.
The Man Who Wanted To Be Happy by Laurent Gounelle.
The next text is a little different to the other recommendations on our list. Laurent Gounelle’s novel is a fictitious story which centres upon the protagonist Julian. The novel sees Julian approach a healer while on holiday who surmises that whilst Julian is healthy, he is far from being happy. Through a series of daily sessions with the wise healer, Julian begins to unearth the source of his despair and learn how to carve his way to happiness.
The novel is an international bestseller and it provides the reader with an opportunity to reflect on behavioural patterns and learn how to change them. It’s a simple message, but one that we often forget as we get bogged down with the rigmarole of running a business: be happy!
Scale or Fail: How to Build Your Dream Team, Explore Your Growth, and Let Your Business Soar by Allison Maslan.
Our fourth recommendation is Scale or Fail by Allison Maslan. Within her bestselling novel, Maslan shares her revolutionary SCALEit Method ® for expanding your business. Drawing upon her experience as a trapeze artist, Maslan outlines how we can alter our mindset to help us confront any obstacle and fulfil our dreams. Her methods can be adapted to any size or type of business and because of that her work has a universal appeal.
How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling by Frank Bettger.
Our final text that we would like to share with you is Frank Bettger’s How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling. This book is perfect for anyone who wants to sell as it draws upon personal experience and outlines Bettger’s foolproof principles on how to become more profitable and efficient in selling. It may be a quick and simple read, but it is one that will be a game changer for you.
We hope you find these recommendations helpful, and of course we must say a big thank you to everyone who contributed their recommendations for this article! Thank you!
