rebuildingsociety's Summer Drinks with Electric Star

On Wednesday 17th September, rebuildingsociety held an evening of drinks and canapés at The Star of Kings in London’s Kings Cross. We were kindly hosted by Electric Star Ltd, a recent successful borrower. The Star of Kings is one of four pubs in the chain and we were delighted to be making good use of our client base. Rob Star, the owner, wanted to say thank-you to the people that have made the refurbishment of his most recent venture, The Jackdaw and Star in Homerton, possible. The Jackdaw and Star has undergone extensive refurbishment to keep the pub in tune with the Electric Star brand and this was funded by rebuildingsociety’s lenders to the tune of £43,000. Featuring a copper bar and chandeliers to give it a high end look and feel, The Jackdaw and Star will join The Star of Bethnal Green, The Star of Kings and The Star at Hackney Downs in the Electric Star portfolio. Keeping things fresh and new is a key component of the Electric Star strategy and a result they have introduced innovative schemes such as the franchising of their kitchens to chefs with a pop-up restaurant or plans to establish one. Chefs typically stay for 3-6 months, ensuring a healthy churn in the style of food available to customers. Attendees of our September event were lucky enough to sample this, with around 50 delegates enjoying drinks and LA-style streetfood. This relaxed evening for the London business community provided an excellent opportunity to network with other members based in the South, hear from a successful borrower and of course, meet some of the rebuildingsociety.com team. Thank you Rob and The Star of Kings!
